Kallio is a trendy and dynamic neighborhood known for its lively atmosphere and diverse offerings. As you step outside our flat, you'll find yourself surrounded by a plethora of cafes, restaurants, bars, and boutiques, Just opposite is the famous Gastro Café (restaurant & bakery - perfect for breakfast!). Close by is Green Hippo Cafe, which offers breakfast, lunch, dinner and brunch. On our street you can also find the legendary Cella, offering traditional Finnish food since 1969. If you prefer a fine dining type of experience, Wino might be the place for you. For those seeking entertainment and nightlife, Kallio offers an exciting array of options. Popular bars in the block include Sivukirjasto, Brewster Bar, Pulmu Bar, Femma IV, HogoHuone and Pub Porthan. If you want to go dancing, you should check out Siltanen, Kuudes Linja and Kaiku, all situated in Hämeentie 13 in the same building. Our flat is conveniently situated near several supermarkets, several of them are open until midnight. Closest grocery store is Alepa, on Helsinginkatu (2 min. walk from our flat). Within a 5 min walk, there is also Lidl and two K-Markets.The historical Hakaniemi Market Hall is also a short walk away - perfect for a quick lunch or shopping for Finnodh delicacies. An interesting labdmark, the Kallio church, is right around the corner. You can also take a walk or bike ride along the nearby Tokoinranta and enjoy the scenic views of the Helsinki bayline. Tokoinranta is a pipular hangout spot, with a small playground and Meripaviljonki restaurant. Helsinki City Theatre is located on the north side of the park. Two popular public saunas are also within a short walk - Harjun Sauna and the Kulttuurisauna. Our favorite is Kulttuurisauna, with the zen atmosphere and direct swimming access in the Baltic sea. Kallio is also home to a variety of boutiques and vintage shops. Take a leisurely stroll along Helsinginkatu or Vaasankatu, and you'll encounter an eclectic mix of stores, showcasing both local and international designers, vintage clothing, and one-of-a-kind pieces. Our location offers convenient transportation options for getting around Helsinki. The flat is ideally situated close to metro, tram, and bus stops, making it easy to explore the city's attractions and neighborhoods. The nearest metro station Hakaniemi, is an 8min walk away, providing quick access to various parts of Helsinki. If you prefer the tram or bus, you'll find stops nearby as well. trams 3 and 7, which stop at Karhupuisto, 200 m (2 min. walk) from our flat. It takes some 12 min to get to the railway station in the city center. For those who enjoy walking, the Central Railway station is a leisurely 25-minute stroll from our flat. You can also easily walk to sights such as the Helsinki Cathedral or Market Square. If you prefer to drive, street parking is available near the property. Please note that parking fees apply during the day at a rate of 2 euros per hour. However, parking is free during nights and weekends.
